BEWARE of this so-called Writing Contest

Yep, it’s a scam of major proportions.

If you’ve heard about the ‘contest’ and haven’t yet read the rules, here they are, in all their glory:

All submissions become sole property of Sponsor and will not be acknowledged or returned.

That means they own your intellectual property.  Publishers never own your book, magazines never own your stories. They license the use of it. They pay you to print the book for a certain amount of time.

By submitting an entry, all entrants grant Sponsor the absolute and unconditional right and authority to copy, edit, publish, promote, broadcast, or otherwise use, in whole or in part, their entries, in perpetuity, in any manner without further permission, notice or compensation.

In other words, if you enter their ‘contest’ (which incidentally costs US$149!), they can take your work, which will no longer be your work, and do absolutely anything they want with to do with it.

For the full details on this out and out SCAM, go to Janet Reid’s blog.

Oh, and not only are they trying to rip writers off, they’re also trying to intimidate people like me and other writer advocate’s into not letting you know they are trying to rip you off.  Take a look at this, posted on their website:

CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AD CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE. THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES OR OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON(S) RESPONSIBLE FOR THE ATTEMPT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

Seriously, do they think people are idiots?

Make Money From Your Writing

Do you?  Make money from your writing, that is?

If not, what will it take to get you making money today?  In many cases it’s a matter of knowing where to find markets, and where to sell your writing. This was always a problem for me, but it doesn’t have to be that way. There are sites out there that will pay you immediately for your writing.

Sure, you could spend hours on end trying to find paying markets, and there are loads of free sites that have them listed.  For me that never worked.  I’d submit, submit, submit, but it was only when I paid for the information that I began to get paid work. But don’t take my word for it – it’s all explained in this new Special Report, Writing Content For Sale.

This report has been written by a friend of mine, so I know the quality is good. Plus I bought a copy.

Read the report, sign up to the site or sites that interest you, write, and you can begin earning money today.

It’s a perfect rainy day income solution.

Here’s my quick review of  Writing Content For Sale:

This report discusses 23 websites where writers can earn money from their writing.  In a lot of cases, it’s by revenue sharing.  Not my favorite thing, but I know tons of writers who do it, and make good money.

There are a small handful of sites in this report that I’ve heard of before, but the majority are new to me.  There’s one site in particular that has excellent potential provided you are knowledgeable on the subject matter required by the site.  This site pays $725 per month for the first two years you are writing for them!  That’s huge in anyone’s terms. (And it’s far from full-time writing.)

Keep in mind the sites in question won’t make you rich, but they will get you on the road to publication, and/or making money from your writing skills.

For the small price of this report, I believe it’s well worth the outlay.  If you don’t intend to follow through and use it, then forget it.  Don’t waste your money.  But if you’re a ‘take action’ person, do it now.  This report may be the difference between making money with your writing or not.

p.s. He’s kept the price low (just $7) for a very short time.  But he’s told me he’ll be increasing it to $17 soon. Don’t hesitate, beat the price rise – grab your report now before it’s too late!
